A short guide to invoice statuses so you can manage expectations on your payments
Pending: A net terms or immediate payment invoice is waiting for customer to confirm. The invoice may be automatically sent to the customer if you have that configured
Eligible: A net terms invoice that 40Seas has already approved for factoring, awaiting customer confirmation. When the customer confirms an Eligible net terms invoice, their credit line will automatically deduct from the customer's existing credit
Confirmed: A prepaid, or "immediate", invoice that has been accepted by the customer. The customer has chosen the payment method and the payment has been scheduled on the due date or the customer needs to initiate payment depending on the method chosen
Assigned: A net terms invoice where customer has confirmed the invoice and applied credit, but has not sent funds
Partially paid: Any invoice that has customer funds associated but there is still an open balance
Charged: An invoice that has been fully paid by the customer
Refunded: An invoice with a customer charge that has been returned to the customer
Canceled: An invoice that was not paid and does not have an open request for payment
Expired: An unpaid invoice that is no longer valid
Overdue: Invoice without any customer payment that is past the due date
Defaulted: Invoices with failure to pay for various reasons. Customer may have initiated a payment attempt that has failed too many times
